About

Larry & Logan

My real name is Larry Robertson although I am known as WebHobbit on a lot of messageboards, websites & in a few comicbook letters pages. I work a crappy blue-collar warehouse job during the day but at night & on weekends I work on PCs. Since around 1995 PCs & the Internet have been one of my passions & now I have found a way to make a little money working on/with it. Granted it’s not a lot as I am very cheap but it is honest money & it helps pay for all my toys. I like to build my own computers & the more you know the more you want it seems.

And like most folks who work on PCs (at least all the really GOOD techs) I am also quite the geek. To clarify I accept “geek” as a positive term unlike the related but NOT synonymous “nerd”. I used to play AD & D way too much. I owned all the hardcovers and memorized much of them. I grew up on pop-culture: Saturday Night Live, Night Stalker, Twilight Zone & MTV back when they played music.

I like Rock & Blues, preferably mixed together with loud guitars and drums (Green Day, Led Zeppelin, John Fogerty, the Doors, The Clash, etc.).

I’m also fairly well read. I love Anthony Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange and the wonderful film version. Other favorites include Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, Michael Moorcock’s Elric Saga, Robert E. Howard’s Conan, Antoine de Saint-ExupĂ©ry’s The Little Prince, Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are, Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree, William Gibson’s Neuromancer & Mona Lisa Overdrive, Ann Rice’s Vampire Chronicles & of course J. R. R. Tolkien’s the Hobbit.

Some have characterized me as a bit of a “gun nut”. I would prefer “gun enthusiast” but I won’t argue semantics on that one. Suffice it to say I strongly believe in the Second Amendment & I don’t interpret it as having anything to do with the modern day National Guard. I believe it is every man’s duty to protect himself and those that he loves. Consequently I have a lifetime concealed carry license & often carry a handgun.

But above all that stuff I LOVE comicbooks. I’m a huge Marvel freak. I’ve been reading/collecting comics for the better part of 30 years. I have an ever growing collection & since 2006 I have been using (and contributing) to the world’s largest comicbook database ComicBase. I even managed to get published within the program itself for a few “blurbs” I wrote up. That coupled with having a few letters published in Marvel comics & having a Wife and Child may just allow me to one day die a happy and fulfilled little hobbit!
